Paia Bay - A local spot for experienced bodyboarders & bodysurfers. Excellent near-shore surf break and home to the annual bodyboarding competition - Beachfest. Big waves in the winter so don't go unless you are very experienced.
Makena "Big Beach" - One of the most beautiful beaches on Maui. Be very cautious & careful with the big & powerful shore-break which can be dangerous esp. during large south swells. Lifeguards are on duty. Best for experienced boogie boarders.
Olowalu Beach - Park right by the beach. Great spot for boogie boarding & snorkeling. Good for beginners - but be careful of the shallow reef!
Kama'ole Beach II - Easy access to the water from a short walk from the parking lot. Easy boogie boarding for all ages.
If you are staying at an ocean front condo in Kihei / Wailea all spots in front of your condo are excellent! Boogie board along the shoreline or take it with you on a snorkel. Be sure to paddle north or to the right & let the trade winds help you back to your beach.
DT Fleming Beach - Great beach year round. Smaller wavers in the summer. For experienced boogie boarders there is often good big surf during north swells...proceed with caution.
